Good Morning All:
Now that we are literally smack dab in the middle of the Holiday Season, I am beginning to see a little more inconsistency with some of my clients’ schedule. So, today’s installment will hopefully provide you with even more reason to find time to get your workouts in during this stressful and busy time of year.
As we know from several previous Body Designs’, including last week’s, the average American gains between 7 and 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and the New Year. And, according to the American College of Sports Medicine, if you are continuing to “pick up” your exercise program where you “left off”, you won’t be able to lose the weight gained by your inconsistency. The American College of Sports Medicine and the American Heart Association recommend healthy adults participate in moderate exercise for at least 30 minutes five days a week, or perform vigorous exercise for at least 20 minutes three days a week. However, studies have shown that in order to lose weight after a stint of inconsistency, one may need to exercise as much as 60 to 90 minutes each and every day!
So my friends, be resistant to being inconsistent!
Happy Holidays!
